As a busy software development manager, how do you really know that candidates actually have the Adobe Flex, ColdFusion, AIR, and LiveCycle skills and knowledge listed on their resumes? Adobe has established several levels of proficiency as part of their certification program.  Ask the next candidate you interview to provide a certification verification report from Pearson / VUE.

Adobe’s Certification Credentials Site – From this site, the candidate can log-in and obtain his official Adobe certification detail that he can forward to you. Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) product certification – Adobe offers single product exams for those who desire to show their proficiency in a single Adobe product.

ACE Exam Provider Information – Adobe certification exams are administered by Pearson VUE an independent third-party testing company. The tests are offered at more than a thousand authorized testing centers in many countries. The certification exam fee is US $150 worldwide.

Prepare for the Exam – Official Adobe Certification exams are computer-delivered, closed-book tests consisting of 60 to 90 multiple-choice questions. The keys to preparing for an ACE exam are experience with the product and studying using these resources: Adobe product user guides, Adobe press books, Official Adobe Authorized Training Classes from On3, tutorials and other training materials. Once certified, your credential is valid until 90 days after the exam version of your certification is retired.  Adobe will e-mail you a reminder when your certification is due for renewal and will let you know when you need to take another exam.
